چکیده

 Abstract—Signal transmission control protocol sources with the objective of managing queue utilization and delay is actually a feedback control problem in active queue management (AQM) core routers. This paper extends AQM control design for single network systems to large-scale wired network systems with time delays at each communication channel. A system model consisted of several local networks is first constructed. A stability condition guaranteeing overall stability is further derived using Lyapunov stability theory. The proposed approach has been verified on a network simulator.

Analysis and Design of AQM for stabilizing TCP

In this paper, we formulate the AQM (Active Queue Management) design problem for stabilizing a given TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) as state-space models. First, we propose a PD-type (Proportional-Derivative) control structure and by applying integral control action, a PID-type (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control structure that is a uni ed AQM framework. Second, we compensate for de...

Analysis and Design of AQM based on State-Space Models for Stabilizing TCP

In this paper, we formulate the AQM (Active Queue Management) design problem for stabilizing a given TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) as state-space models. Thereby, we show that PD-type (Proportional-Derivative) AQM is a natural state-feedback control structure to stabilize the given TCP for the first time in the networking literature to our knowledge and by applying integral control action...

On Exploiting Traffic Predictability in Active Queue Management

Analytical and empirical studies have shown that self-similar trafic can have detrimental impact on network performance including amplified queuing delay and packet loss ratio. On the flip side, the ubiquity of scale-invariant burstiness observed across diverse networking contexts can be exploited to better design resource control algorithms. In this paper, we explore the issue of exploiting tr...

A Particle Swarm Optimization Approach for Optimum Design of First-Order Controllers in TCP/AQM Network Systems

This paper proposes a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method for determining the optimal parameters of a first-order controller for TCP/AQM system. The model TCP/AQM is described by a second-order system with time delay. First, the analytical approach, based on the D-decomposition method and Lemma of Kharitonov, is used to determine the stabilizing regions of a first-order controller. Second,...
